Home Learning at Westdene

Home learning activities are set by class teachers on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Home learning varies by year group but usually involves weekly spellings, daily ready and a maths, literacy or topic-based activity.

Below is a list of the online services that are used for home learning in different year groups at Westdene:

THE WOMBLE (Y1 - Y3)

www.westdeneprimary.co.uk

The WOMBLE is our online learning platform. It is accessed using the login button in the bottom corner of the screen of our school website.

Every child has a personal username and password that they are given by their teacher. The children are taught how to use the WOMBLE and how to be safe online during the Autumn term.

We use the WOMBLE for some home learning activities and as part of learning in school.

We have created a WOMBLE Help Page to support parents and pupils.

Google Classroom (Y4 - Y6)

classroom.google.com

Google Classroom is our online learning platform for older juniors. It is accessed in a web browser (Google Chrome recommended) or via the Google Classroom app (recommended for any pupils using smartphones or tablets).

Every child has a @westdene.uk login and password that they are given by their teacher. The children are taught how to use Google Classroom and how to be safe online during the Autumn term.

It is used for many home learning activities.

We have created a Google Classroom Help Page to support parents and pupils.
